Nicolò Cecchella
Biography
Nicolò Cecchella (1985) lives between Reggio Emilia and Rome. His artistic research tackles the dynamics of representation by declining them through the themes of the body, the identity and the human presence, investigating its relationship to the surrounding environment and conjugating it to the natural and organic dimension in which it is inserted. His artistic practice unfolds through the interaction with multiple lan-guages: sculpture, photography, video, installation. He recently participated to the exhibitions: “Trees and Leaves” curated by Paola Stacchini Cavazza and Mario Peliti, Galleria del Cembalo, Palazzo Borghese, Rome 2021-22; “Verde Brillante” curated by Leonardo Regano, Galleria Antonio Verolino, Modena 2022; “Abecedario”, Palazzo del Governatore, as part of the cultural events organized during the year of Parma Capitale Italiana della Cultura 20+21; “È sempre un problema capire come devono stare questi corpi” curated by Luca Zuccala and Andrea Tinterri, State Of, Milan, 2021; “Hole” curated by Andrea Tinterri + Tatanka, Adiacenze, Bologna 2021. The artist’s projects also took part in the following exhibitions: “Impronte” curated by Angela Madesani, Galleria Passaggi, Pisa 2019; “Spatium” curated by Angela Madesani, Palazzo Barbò Torre Pallavicina, Bergamo 2018; “In Posa” curated by Paola Stacchini Cavazza and Mario Peliti, Galleria del Cembalo, Palazzo Borghese, Roma 2016; “L’Uccisione”, Loft Project ETAZHI, St. Petersburg, Russia 2010 and Gallery Vychiod, Petrozavodsk, Inde-pendent Republic of Karelia 2010. Moreover he has exhibited at the Premio Francesco Fabbri per le Arti Contemporanee 2016 and at the European Photography Festival during the 2011, 2012, 2013 editions. He has been awarded at the NEXT Award for Theater – Lombardy Region in 2016 and at the Portfolio Europa, European Photography Festival 2013. At the Triennale di Milano he was the curator of the scenography of the theatre show Mi Richordo Anchora in 2016. He is one of the founding members of the Teatro So-ciale Gualtieri.
